Jiansheng Ding is the founder, chief scientist and chairman of Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes Co. Ltd. He is also head of China's National Polyurethane Engineering and Technology Center. He began working for Yantai Wanhua, then a small chemical company, in 1982 on the research and development of isocyanates production. |

Thorsten Dreier, Bayer MaterialScience AG, Germany Dr. Thorsten Dreier has almost 10 years of research and technology experience in polyurethanes. He is currently heading the Process Research department in the Business Unit Polyurethanes of Bayer MaterialScience. In this role he leads the process research activities for MDI, TDI and polyetherpolyols. He earned his PhD and MS in Chemistry, from the University of Münster, Germany. He then gained three years of R&D experience in Bayer’s Polyurethanes division, performing polyurethanes product research for various kinds of products including rigid foams flexible foams, and specialty types of polyurethane products. After joining the central corporate development innovation department and working as the assistant to the CTO of Bayer AG, Dr. Dreier was responsible for the R&D strategy and IP Management within the Business Unit Polyurethanes. Since 2009, Dr. Dreier has been responsible for the Process Research Isocyanates department and since 2011 for the Process Research Polyetherpolyols department as well. |

Angela Smits, Croda Coatings & Polymers, the Netherlands Angela Smits is Market Applications Specialist Adhesives, Plastics, Elastomers and Foam, at Croda Coatings and Polymers in Gouda, the Netherlands. Involved with market and technology trends she has managed several innovation projects for new products or new applications of Croda bio-based building blocks, from idea to commercialisation. Prior to that, she worked as Product and Application Specialist at DSM Food Specialties for food coatings, as Development Chemist at National Starch & Chemical for acrylate adhesives, and as Research Chemist at ATO in Wageningen on bio-based plastics, adhesives and coatings. Jeff Rowlands, Green Urethanes Ltd, UK Jeff Rowlands is a Director of Green Urethanes Limited and also, its sister company Innochem Limited. Both companies are involved in the development, patenting and licensing of in house, and third party-developed, technologies, for use in the Urethane foam industry, worldwide. Both GU and Innochem are based in the United Kingdom. Prior to this, he was a Director of Interchem International SA in Luxembourg, which developed and licensed the PIPA polyol process for use in the North American and European flexible slabstock and moulding markets. He was also Technical Director of Beaverfoam Manufacturing (now part of Recticel NV) in the UK. His first job after university in Manchester UK, was as a Unit production engineer and later, troubleshooter at Union Carbide’s chemical facility in Southern England. Jeff is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, a Chartered Engineer and a registered European Engineer at FAENI in Paris. |

Angel Marcos received a Ph.D. in Organic Polymer Science in 1992. He served as a Post Doctoral fellow at UMIST (Manchester) from 1993 to 1994 under the supervision of Prof. A.J. Ryan and since then he has been working at the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (CSIC), holding currently the position of Vice-Director. In the field of polyurethanes, he is currently involved in the areas of biodegradable non-toxic polyurethanes for biomedical applications and PU based adhesives for footwear. |

She then completed a post-doc at the University of Durham, UK. She joined Bayer in 2001 and moved to the polyurethanes division in 2002. She spent three years in the research department before moving to a development role for semi-rigid foams for automotive applications. In spring 2011 she became team-leader for the application Metal Panel. |

Ronald van den Bosch, Dow Benelux BV, the Netherlands Ronald van den Bosch joined Dow Benelux BV in 1984 after receiving a degree in chemical engineering. Before joining PU EH&S he was part of the technical service and development group for PU rigid foams followed by several years of research for PU both in the Netherlands and in Switzerland. Ronald joined the PU-EH&S group in 2007 in preparation for REACH. His current role includes REACH Implementation Leader for Dow PU&POPG, EH&S issue management and Sustainability. He’s also leading the ISOPA Product Stewardship Cluster among other industry association activities. |

Dr. Marc Martin, BASF Polyurethanes GmbH, Germany Dr. Marc Martin studied Chemistry in Würzburg and RWTH Aachen. After his PhD he started at BASF Intermediates Research in 2003 in Ludwigshafen before in 2009 he switched to BASF Polyurethanes GmbH. He is now responsible for the development of flexible foam formulations for automotive acoustics and furniture applications. |

After receiving his PhD in Polymer Chemistry at the University of Freiburg he joined Evonik in 2004 as a technical manager for polyurethane additives. His main focus is the development of new silicone stabilizers for the polyurethane industry. Main fields of activity are ester foam, viscoelastic foam and VOC emanations from PU flexible foam. |

Karl-Heinz Hornbach, Head of the Processing Lab Operations Europe for Plastic additives and Pigments, BASF Karl-Heinz holds a Bachelor of Science in Polymer Engineering. In 1998 Karl-Heinz joined Ciba Specialty Chemicals Plastic Additives in Basel, Switzerland as head of the Processing Labs for the application and testing of plastic additives. In 2003 he moved to Ciba Plastic Additives Italy where he worked as Application Specialist for additives used in Polyolefin Films.
